How are things on the west coast?

This week’s lull in the action has been the result of a crazy week. Birthday partiesand Father’s Day meant that grocery shopping was a quick run through Wegmans on Monday night with no list. Dinners have been the product of 30 minutes or less of prep work. A quesadilla here, sliders there… This week was all about the quick and had nothing to do with being creative.

This weekend will be no different. A cookout Saturday gives way to a Sunday of packing before The Wife and I venture west to San Francisco for a week. Apparently, 2012 marks our 10th year of marriage. We’ll celebrate with a child-free trip to the Left Coast. I’ll be discussing food from the trip here on Al Dente.

We’re back in Syracuse on July 1 and, hopefully, we’ll get things back on a more predictable course.
